As every year, we’d signed up to run the Zurich SOLA Relay<\/strong> \u2013 the largest event of its kind in Switzerland, consisting of 14 relay sections around Zurich.<\/p>\n

We have two teams registered<\/strong>, so we need 28 willing r*nners<\/strong>, plus beer angels<\/em>, backups, or cheering fans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We celebrate the finish by barbecuing \/ boozing at finish in Irchel Park (around 18:00).\u00a0<\/strong>Everyone welcome – <\/strong>no hash-cash for runners. CHF 40 registration for runners.<\/p>\n

What is this all about and how does it work?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

SOLA is a relay run around the city of Zurich<\/strong>. A team of 14 runners<\/strong> covers a total distance of 114.77 km<\/strong>, with 2,640 m of elevation gain<\/strong> across the greater Zurich area.\u00a0The 14 sections range from 3.69 km to 14.11 km<\/strong>, making them suitable for all types of runners.\u00a0More information can be found on the SOLA homepage<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

As in previous years, all genders can run any section<\/strong>.\u00a0The race starts with leg 1 at 07:30<\/strong> (all our teams are registered as slow teams) in the misty H\u00f6nggerberg woods<\/strong>.\u00a0Runners 2\u20137<\/strong> head out toward Engstringen<\/strong>, up and along the Uetliberg<\/strong>, and then back into town.\u00a0The morning section finishes at the University of Zurich Irchel campus<\/strong>.\u00a0The afternoon runners (legs 8\u201312)<\/strong> start at 12:30<\/strong>. The trail heads through Forch to Egg<\/strong> and returns to Witikon<\/strong>.\u00a0Two shorter legs then bring the relay to the final finish at Irchel<\/strong>.\u00a0Our meeting point will be at the tents across the lake from the finish area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Handover between runners is done by handshake<\/strong>, so it is important to arrive early for your leg<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Please pay your registration fee of CHF 40<\/strong> into the regular ZH3 account<\/strong><\/a>, referencing:\u00a0\u201cSOLA 2026 \u2013 [Your Hash Name]\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

TBC whether SOLA will have dedicated haberdashery<\/strong> this year.\u00a0A final party and grill<\/strong> will take place at Irchel Park near the finish line<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
